General Weather Description:
New York City has four distinct seasons. The autumn is generally pleasant with cool days and colder nights. The winter is very cold but "radiational cooling" tends to keep the city warmer at the begining of a prolonged cold spell and colder towards the end. It's location as a harbor city means humidity and a "bite" to the air. The spring is pleasant although unpredictable. Warm days and cold or even snowy days can be interspersed. The summer is warm with occasional brief "heat waves" of uncomfortably hot and humid weather.
