The Ann Arbor area has four distinct seasons. The ‘lake effect’ from Lake Michigan has a significant impact on the local weather. The lake effect brings frequent cloudy weather from fall through winter. The weather is relatively extreme with cold snowy winters and hot summers. Fall and spring are pleasant transition seasons.
